October 27

Hi,

You made it through your midterm exam. Congratulations.  Most of you are doing really well on the labs and, of course, the readings and discussion posts are pretty easy marks, so don’t worry if you didn’t do super well on the exam.

So far, we’ve looked at climate and weather globally.  Chapter 8 will help you understand your local weather – warm air masses, cold air masses, warm fronts, cold fronts, thunderstorms, ice storms, hurricanes and tornadoes.

By integrating what we have been learning about winds, atmospheric moisture and solar energy you will be able to better appreciate the factors that create your daily weather.

This week please

  • Read online notes 8 and the text, chapter 8
  • No readings from last week on Canvas by Tuesday midnight.
  • Make a good comment in the discussion forum on Canvas by Saturday midnight.  These are pretty easy marks, so please take advantage of them.  And it is a great way to get to know your classmates.  Please do NOT use AI, like ChatGPT.  Grammar and spelling mistakes are OK.  I want to get to know you and hear your ideas.  Not a computer’s. Computers are boring.  You’re not!

Questions?  Please email me.   bmartin@corpuschristi.ca  I should respond within 24 hours on weekdays.  Weekends I take off.
