October 5
We thank you, O God. We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your wonderful deeds. God says, “At the time I have planned, I will bring justice against the wicked. When the earth quakes and its people live in turmoil, I am the one who keeps its foundations firm.“
Psalm 75:1-3
Hi.
The Lord is good.
As Thanksgiving approaches, be thankful for His blessings, including His amazing and awesome creation all around us.
Last week we looked at dramatic things like earthquakes and volcanoes.
These “exciting” processes are not the only things that shape the landscape. So do less spectacular, long-term processes like the effects of the weather.
Weathering refers to the effect of heating, cooling, precipitation, and other weather-related effects.
Closely tied to weathering can be mass movement – major events like landslides, but also less intense things like the gradual downslope movement of saturated soil.
